Bison | Yellowstone

Matted, tattered coat

pulled over their heads.

Big eyes cast down

along with horns and a big jaw

cast down by gentle focus but mostly gravity.

Unless they tip themselves over

and roll around in the dust.

Babies looking like woolly brown sheep,

not yet with large heads,

looking up expectantly.

A lone bison sits by himself

in a favored spot

on the incline before a cliff

no fucks given.
